I hope that everyone reading this has had an enjoyable Easter break.
It was a thrill to induct two new members into the club last Thursday morning in front of a large welcoming group. Andy and Christine are very enthusiastic about joining Adelaide Light and I hope that their joining us will assist in reassuring them positively about moving from South Africa to Adelaide, which was a very big move.
Sally and I have just spent four very enjoyable days in Port Elliott, where on Saturday morning we had coffee with honorary member Andrew Black and his wife Judy who now live in Victor Harbor. Past member Phil Colbatch and Tina were also there, so it was a great catchup.
John W, Bruce and Fred will be absent for the next few weeks as they visit Iran and other adventurous spots. I hope that Phil lines them up for a guest speaker spot upon their return.
Our next meeting is this coming Wednesday evening 24th. April at the Ibis, 6.15pm for a 6.30pm. prompt start.

Last week we had a lovely visit from Brad Loftus who was transferred to RSM when Terry Rodoni returned to Victoria.
Brad mentioned that he'd just finished a 1,078km bike ride for the Hospital Research Foundation Fund and personally raised $4,830. The total of 34 riders contributed around $160,000 which was an exceptional amount.
The route for the bike ride was from Adelaide then south to Wirrina, north east to Murray Bridge, north to Burra then returning to Adelaide.
The Hospital Research Foundation is putting these funds towards buying or building a house to support country cancer patients and their families while they undergo treatment. This was certainly a worthy ride for a great cause, especially as Brad and his wife are expecting their third child to be born soon. Well done, Brad.
For the benefit of members, we will aim to give the Duty Roster a few weeks ahead - see below.
