Carer Support
Carer Support is a not for profit organisation providing a one-stop support service to people caring for a loved one in Adelaide’s eastern and southern suburbs.
- Did you know that one in six South Australians are regularly caring for family or friends?
- That’s nearly a quarter of a million carers in our state. Many children, some as young as five, are carers.
- Carers are compassionate individuals who look after loved ones with a disability, a physical or mental illness or who are becoming frail. They give their time freely to help loved ones get the most out of life, simply because they care.
- 8 out of 10 carers are under financial strain; it can be hard to make ends meet if you’re working reduced hours or unable to do paid work at all because of your caring role.
- But there is support available from organisations like Carer Support.
