Thank you PDG John Campbell for speaking last meeting on the 2017 International Rotary Convention in Atlanta. I can attest to the amazing experience of attending such with 45,000 Rotarians from around the world and having the opportunity to listen and meet with such notables as Bill Gates (End Polio) Ashton Kutcher (slavery) Andrew Young (freedom walker with Martin Luther King Jnr) and the inaugural Women in Rotary session in the Jimmy Carter Peace Centre.

If you have the opportunity, next years convention in June will be in Toronto Canada and will celebrate 50 years of Rotaract and will be a wonderful exchange of ideas and rotary experiences.

A date to mark in our diaries is Wednesday 20th September at Cafe Alfonso's , Hutt Street, Adelaide 2pm - 5pm when we will have our first session on assembling artificial hands purchased through the "Hands On" project. Our facilitator Linda Sweeney will be ensuring all hands are assembled correctly for distribution and fitting to land mine victims in South East Asia. Please contact John Karran to confirm your attendance and to obtain more information. We are hoping this activity will result in some good publicity for our work.

Remember Board Members we will be holding our scheduled Board Meeting at Alfonso's immediately following the "Hands On" activity.

Thought for the week:

Don't burn your bridges - you may need to cross them later!
