Our official breakfast meeting at the Ibis last Thursday was successful, although sadly our guest speaker was an apology and we have since discovered that he had an excellent reason for his sudden absence and he and Phil are planning a new date.

Last Friday, Di, Yvette and myself assisted the Norwood club with their bbq. roster at Bunnings at Mile End and my third shift was very busy indeed. This will contribute to our barbeque fundraising budget which appears to be on track.

This coming Wednesday is our monthly dinner meeting commencing at 6.30pm sharp when we will be inducting Margie Steffens into the club who will become our second new member this Rotary year. We will also have a guest speaker, Megan Bekesi from East Waste who will be addressing us on the subject of "Talking Rubbish ".

Time permitting Rotaractor Gregory will address us briefly on the subject of their new eftpos strategy, which Bruce has been investigating for us.

Adelaide City Rotaract Quiz Night
Adelaide City Rotaract Club are holding their annual quiz night at Pulteney Grammar School on May 24 2019.

This year we are focusing on a project to help provide primary school students with essential school equipment. Schools in low socio-econimic areas often have students join their school in the middle of a term and the students arrive with little or no school equipment. Our goal is to provide enough back packs, pencil cases and other essential items such as toothbrushes and socks so that when a new student arrives schools can provide them with a pack on their arrival.

The night will be "Back 2 Skool" themed so wear your best first-day-of-term outfit, bring some money for the canteen and practice your quick-maths!

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

Jokes Corner
All eyes were on the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle.
They reached the altar and the waiting groom.
The bride kissed her father and placed something in his hand.
The guests in the front pews responded with ripples of laughter. Even the priest smiled broadly.
As her father gave her away in marriage, the bride gave him back his credit card.
