The three F’s!
Fellow Sunrise Rotarians, this time of the year reminds me of the three F’s: Family, Friendship and Fellowship and for the most part, with many lovely memories of days gone by of seeing long lost family; renewing friendships and possibly enjoying too much fellowship!
It is a special time!
Irrespective of one’s faith, you cannot but help to feel the excitement in the air; the beautiful lights; the decorations and even though this time is leading up to Christmas, for others it is special too. Muslims recently celebrated Eid to mark the end of Ramadan; Hindus celebrated Karthikai Deepam, a very ancient festival of lights and coincidently, Hanukkah, also a festival of lights was observed by the Jewish faith earlier this month.
I would like to suggest another F for this time too: Forgiveness. Let us consider those that we might have hurt or treated badly and ask them for their forgiveness; but I think more importantly, it is the right time forgive those that we feel have wronged us – it sets you free!
May I take this opportunity to wish all of you and your families, a Blessed Holiday and a New Year full of Hope, Good Health, Happiness, lots of Laughter, many Smiles (Dr. Bert!) and let us have Fun (PDG Ali P!).
