Rotary Sunrise Incorporation

The club has grown up quickly and this action will help to protect it and its members for many years to come. The club has been involved in umpteen projects - some hands-on like clearing the Mastic Trail, the beach and the bird sanctuary, Some purely financial like providing considerable funds following Hurricane Ivan and some more academic like reading with schoolchildren and coordinating and facilitating the Computer Assisted Learning System pilot program. Members have visited Cuba, the Bahamas, Jamaica and more recently Peru where member Dr. Bert Thacker led a team to give dental care to isolated communities on the Amazon. Fellowship events are popular too. They have a Wine Society, games, softball and karaoke evenings and regular visits to various homes and restaurants. Rotary SUNRISE was chartered on the 18th April 2002 with 32 members. Now it has 94 and includes 31 Ladies. Average age of the great majority is around 40 - one of the youngest Rotary clubs in the world. Most of the members are professionals - bankers, lawyers, accountants, engineers and many others from Cayman and 21 other countries worldwide.
