NCVO Telethon
Rotarians & Rotaractors Provide Early Support
The NCVO Telethon takes place this weekend, giving everyone in Cayman an opportunity to support an organization that runs six different programs: preschool, nursery, the John Gray college scholarship grant, the Caring Cousins lunch program, the foster home and a bargain shop. NCVO CEO, Janice Wilson told Cayman 27, "A lot of families can’t afford to send their child to preschool or nursery, but they need to work as well and that’s where we come in, that’s where we help." The non-profit organisation is hoping to raise $140,000 at this year’s telethon. “Just to put that into perspective, for our foster home for example, we receive a grant of $225,000 a year but it costs about $400,000 to run that. So we need to find the remainder,”
Rotaractors took the lead this past weekend in collecting funds at a Foster’s Food Fair for the National Council of Voluntary Organisations.
