Debate Judges Needed

Rotary Central and Rotary Sunrise will jointly be providing member judges for a new inter-school debate tournament which has been created by the debate coaches at CIS & St. Ignatius Catholic School. The tournament will take place at St. Ignatius on Tuesday 24th November from 3.30pm to 8/9pm and volunteer judges will need to be available to attend for the entire length of the tournament. There are around 10 school teams registered so far. Volunteer judges will also need to attend a short training session before the day of the tournament, and I understand that we will receive a complimentary hot meal at the tournament.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in debating to get involved! I am looking for 8 more judges from Sunrise - please email me ASAP if you would like to be a judge at the tournament. I am inviting our Literacy and Youth Committee members before extending the invitation to other club members.

Just to confirm, this is not part of the annual Fred Speirs Debates but Central and Sunrise are supporting this new tournament and Central is hoping to arrange an inter-school Fred Speirs Debate Training event in early 2016 in place of the regular annual debates this year.
