Club Elections

Vocational Service is one of the original Rotary Avenues of Service and most Rotary clubs have a Director of Vocational Service. Rotary Sunrise replaced this position with a Literacy Director several years ago.

 

Vocational Service is perhaps the most difficult Avenue of Service to define and explain. Dictionaries define vocation as “ a job that you do because you feel it is your purpose in life and for which you have special skills” or as “a strong feeling of suitability for a particular career or occupation”.

 

It is further defined as “a person’s employment or main occupation, especially regarded as particularly worthy and requiring great dedication” and as a “trade or profession”.
