Hundreds Screened by Rotarians at Health Fair
The Cayman Islands Cancer Society’s Cancer Awareness Day Health Fair was a well attended event with several hundred people passing through the doors. There were speakers from local and international medical centres on a variety of topics and booths hosted by a number of different business entities.
Over 20 Sunrise Rotarians and Rotactors supported the event by operating the station where attendees could stop by and do an online cancer risk assessment tool. Additionally Sunriser, Dr. Richens (left), assisted with basic health screening including blood pressure checks and answering questions from members of the public. Dr. Ecke (lower left) was also on hand with his equipment to provide screening for head and neck issues, including cancer.All told there was a minimum of 40 volunteers hours from the Sunrise team towards activities associated with the event.
