Beach Cleanup: East End

Rotaractors Joined by Sunrisers Last Saturday

More than a dozen Rotaractors were joined by a handful of Rotarians on the rocky shores and blowholes near Lovers Wall in East End on an early Saturday morning beach clean-up. It did not take long to lose count of the number of toothbrushes, bottles, bottle caps, flip flops and other debris that littered the periphery of each blowhole. Each person --on a dive boat, cruise boat, fishing boat, at a beach party, wherever-- may have considered it just one single item that they tossed or lost, but they would have thought about it differently if only they could see how many "single" items quickly amass in our sea and along our shores. Thank you to everyone who packed multiple garbage bags and made the area a little cleaner.
