Community Service Committee

Members of this committee are responsible for organising the club’s community projects which will include finding volunteers to help with the projects and liaising with stakeholders including government officials and other leaders. Needs analysis, planning, budgeting and evaluation are key components of each project/event including outlining the financial needs and volunteer hours required for completion.
 

International Service Committee

Literacy Committee

Members of this committee are responsible for organising the club’s literacy projects which will include finding volunteers to help with the projects, liaising with stakeholders including government officials and education leaders and organising events to commemorate days such as International Literacy Day and the club’s activities during Literacy Month. This group will also organise the inter-school debates. Needs analysis, planning, budgeting and evaluation are key components of each project/event including outlining the financial needs and volunteer hours required for completion. This committee liaises and works closely with the Literacy Is For Everyone organisation
 
 

Youth Service Committee

Members of this committee are responsible for organising the club’s youth-oriented projects including the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA), Rotaract, Interact, and Earlyact. Responsibilities include finding volunteers to help with youth projects, liaising with stakeholders including government officials and education leaders and organising events to commemorate Child Month activities etc. Needs analysis, planning, budgeting and evaluation are key components of each project / event including outlining the financial needs and volunteer hours required for completion.
 
 

Rotary Foundation Committee

Member of this committee will promote understanding of the Foundation within the Club and assist other committees with applications for Foundation grants and programs. Additionally, this committee will encourage members of the club to donate to the Foundation and organise all of the Club’s efforts to raise funds for The Rotary Foundation.
 
 
 
 

Fundraising Committee

The name of this committee implies its purpose. While it is the duty of EVERY Rotarian to be a fundraiser, this committee is responsible for organising activities and events that create the funds needed to support the Club’s service projects – literacy, youth and community – as well as international projects and disaster relief.

As a member of the committee you will have to help organise events and ensure their success by negotiating with vendors, promoting the event within the club as well as to the community at large, soliciting prizes if necessary, preparing materials e.g. tickets and flyers etc. Organising an event will also involve the preparation of a budget considering anticipated costs versus the expected return, volunteer hours etc

 

Fellowship Committee

This committee is responsible for planning opportunities for socialising and networking among members and the Family of Rotary. The camaraderie that Rotary clubs foster is often what keeps members engaged in club activities and projects. The committee helps organise inter-club events. It ensures that for each event there is planning and budgeting including outlining the financial needs and volunteer hours required for completion of a successful event.
 

Communications/Public Relations Committee

This committee is responsible for the dissemination of information about Rotary Sunrise, both internally to its members and externally to the general public and ensures all social media sites are updated and maintained on a regular basis. The information to be disseminated includes all projects including service projects and fundraising activities. The committee will also provide damage control if there is a negative event or story. The photo team, the video team, and the social media team are also members of this committee. Each service committee is also expected to appoint an individual to liaise with the Communications Director on all events and activities within their respective committee. Members of this committee produce and distribute the weekly bulletin and update the club’s website on a regular basis. Social media includes FaceBook, Whatsapp, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.
 

Club Administration Committee

The club service committee is responsible for the smooth operation of the club and works closely with the Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant, who are all members of this committee.

Responsibilities include organising the weekly meetings including identifying and inviting interesting speakers, and organising club forums, club assemblies, Charter and Changeover Nights and other special club events. Specific activities include the weekly duty roster for meeting duties. It also arranges any special speaker needs. Additionally this committee ensures there are banners for exchange. This Committee is also responsible for maintaining the club’s equipment and sets up for a meeting. The committee also assists with the organising of inter-club events.
