Update on the Trestle and other Major Public Works
Jan 19, 2023
Kevin McDonnell, Petaluma's new mayor, is a longtime community member and volunteer. He is a Civil Engineer by day. He and his wife, Melissa, have raised their four children in town and participated in every kind of mischief that children can get you involved in - education, sports, church groups and more. Since the children have grown, he has been active in city activities - being a member of the Park and Recreation Commission, the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee, the Planning Commission and most recently a four year term on the City Council.
Kevin will discuss the City progress on moving forward restoring our faded infrastructure. Specifically Kevin will talk about restoring the downtown Trestle promenade, getting our street paving improved, how streets will be safer for walking and bicycling and how public safety facilities will be improved. Kevin is joined today by Christopher Bolt, the City's Public Works director.

DARK for lunch
Jan 26, 2023
While we will be Dark for lunch, the good news... make that GREAT NEWS is that from 5 - 6:15 PM we will have an after-hours field trip at Lace House Linen, 949 Lindberg Lane, Petaluma. In concert with our 100 year Petaluma Rotary Club Anniversary, we are are also delighted to acknowledge Lace House as centurion business, established in 1915, originally at 128 Liberty Street by Frenchman, John Libarle. And of course, Dan Libarle took the helm in 1963, now co-owned by his daugher Phoebe Ellis and Nicole Marzo, along with husband Richard Marzo as VP Marketing & Sales. So be sure to help us celebrate Lace House Linen's well-deserve success and take a peek inside their 25,000 square foot state-of-the art facility. Of course Rotary will provide celebratory libations and snacks until 6:15PM before the hearty and hungry among our tribe will adjourn to Taps On the River at 54 East Washington St in the River Plaza. |

The Argus-Courier shopped local in choosing Don Frances — a Petaluma resident with strong ties to the community and a portfolio of strong community journalism experience under his belt — to be the paper’s new editor. “Don is peak Petaluma, as the kids say, his knowledge of local issues mixed with his passion for this community made him an obvious choice for this critical position,” Emily Charrier, publisher of the Argus-Courier, said Tuesday. “He will help bring out the best in our dynamic and award-winning newsroom.”
