The District 5050 Governors 2026-2027 Engagement Initiative that I am introducing is a year-long pilot project redirecting District Conference resources to increase engagement and create lasting impact.

How? By inspiring Clubs to maintain a welcoming and collaborative culture, recruit and retain members, complete meaningful projects, support personal growth, and encourage support for The Rotary Foundation from every Club member to fuel future service activities.

Kathleen will update us on the most recent Peru trip.  Josephine and Joanna Boyd also bere part of the team.  Kathleen will share the focus of the trip and perhaps offer some feedback on roasted guinea pig.  

Carol joins us with an update on the work of the Amanda Todd Legacy organization.  She may also share some alarming info on the current social media impact on teens and the rest of us.

Outreach Substance Use Counselling for Youth

ASTRA supports youth aged 13-19 with substance use concerns, providing supportive and relational counselling services based on their needs, readiness, and commitment to change. The program meets youth on a one-to-one outreach basis in their communities. ASTRA counsellors follow a bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective to help youth reach goals that promote wellness around problematic substance use.

Lisa is the Executive Director of the Austin Heights Business Improvement Association.  She will visit to tell us about her organization and its mandate to promote and support businesses operating in the Austin Heights area.  The organization's annual "Hollydaze" is actively in the planny phase and we will hear about what to expect this year.
