Service Projects

 

During our 2026 Rotary Tri-Cities Epic Day of Service.  This year, our Tri-Cities Rotary groups chose to plant a Pollinator Garden on The Crunch (between Landsdowne & Steeple).  It was an incredible day of community, collaboration, and environmental impact. Seeing all four Rotary clubs come together with such energy and purpose made it truly special. Together, we’re helping create habitat and support essential pollinators like bees and butterflies, while contributing to a healthier, more resilient ecosystem. Our first pollinator: a bumblebee!   Bumblebees, butterflies, are just a few of Mother Nature's superstars that play a vital role in our planet’s health: Pollination powerhouses: They help pollinate many of the crops and plants we rely on for food. Biodiversity champions: By supporting plant reproduction, they help maintain healthy and diverse ecosystems. Climate contributors: Thriving plant life, supported by pollinators, helps absorb carbon and stabilize our climate.

This is a free workshops series for community members on how to become climate action champions in their neighbourhoods.  We have hosted 2 series thus far and are gearing up to host a third in May 2024.

 

 

This is one of our club’s favourite service projects.  We provide everything a family would need for a Christmas Turkey Dinner such as (a frozen turkey, roasting pan, cooking instructions, stuffing, cranberry sauce, fresh vegetables, and much more).  We arrange supplies pick up times and host a hamper assembly night.  We partner with local schools who identify the families in need.  On the Thursday before Christmas break, we deliver the hampers to the identified schools.  The school then arranges pick up by the families.  This year we are servicing 100 families.
