On March 2, 2022, Winona Rotary Noon meeting hosted a zoom for two Ukrainians that came to Winona in April 2019.

Hello everyone....it's your new President Heidi Smith!
It's the beginning of our Winona Rotary 2021-2022 year and the beginning of my presidency. What a year we just came through! However you weathered the pandemic, we are inching our way to normalcy. I am hoping that we come away better for the struggles we endured last year.
I am not going to write a long letter of goals and hopes for this upcoming Rotary year. My goal is simple for this year: Embrace one another in support and unity as we seek to implement the 4-way test in all we do as a club.
We can create community projects, fundraise, grow our club, and include the younger generation if we look through this lens in all we do.
I am an optimistic person by nature and will do all I can to learn to be a good president. But I will need your help and support. As the leadership at Winona ORC are always telling me and everyone else, "we manage up and help Heidi be a good leader". We tend to laugh after someone says this, but its true, they do manage me well and together we do great things at Winona ORC. Same goes in Rotary. I cannot remember everything, I cannot implement everything alone nor do I want to! So many of you have already stepped up to support and help me this year and I so appreciate it!!!! If I forget something or someone, please gently remind me or help each other. Rotary is about the collective, not one person.
