Darby has been a volunteer with the American Cancer Society for over 22 years. During this time, his family and friends team raised over $100,000 for the organization to support the St. Charles Relay for Life.  With more than 25 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit management, he began his career with the American Cancer Society in 2018 as Director of Corporate Relations and Philanthropy providing stewardship to the Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies in Louisiana & Mississippi.  In addition, he worked to build and strengthen a major gift portfolio for the organization.  In July 2020, Darby was appointed to the position of Director of Estate & Gift Planning.  He is responsible for building and stewarding relationships with donors and financial service professionals in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Darby graduated in 1993 with degrees in Business Administration and Marketing from the Nicholls State University. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his wife, two daughters, son-in-law and grandson.  Currently Darby serves as President of the Board of Directors for the River Region Drama Guild / River Region Performing Arts & Cultural Center, President of the River Parish Swim League, Board Member for the Society of Financial Services Professional – New Orleans Chapter, and member of the New Orleans Estate Planning Council, Tax & Estate Planning Council of Shreveport, Estate Planning Council of Mississippi, and Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce – Health & Wellness Committee.
