History of Rotary
Since 1905, Rotary Clubs have been creating history, transforming it, and working towards making the world a better place.

2025 was a busy year for our Club!!!

On Sunday, February 2nd, Club President Gary Lehman and I attended the 6th Annual Men Who Cook Fundraiser. We had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people while we were there.

The event was organized by Troop 28 of the Boy Scouts of America. Scoutmaster and dedicated Club member Ruth Reble managed the event brilliantly, guiding everyone to their designated spots. Honestly, it was impressive to witness. Ruth, along with the Scout Leaders and Scouts, did a fantastic job, and it was evident they were having a great time.

Twelve incredible chefs participated in the cook-off, making it quite challenging to choose a favorite. I had my pick, and Gary had his.

It turns out that one of our own truly had what it takes to be a Top Chef! Our very own Kevin McGee and his sons won 'A Major Award'.

Great job, guys!

I can't wait for next year!

In April, we hosted our first Howland Rotary Club Meet & Greet to share with our Community how Rotary makes a difference.
Some of our Club Members attended the 2025 District 6650 Conference
Some of us got to meet our District 6650 Exchange Students - From Taiwan, Uganda, Germany, Peru, Ecuador and India
Wall That Heals
On Saturday, May 31st I had the absolute privilege to see The Wall That Heals. I have to say that it was a humbling and powerful experience. We all know what we lost in the Vietnam War...with any War...but to see this Wall of Fallen Heroes in person, even though it wasn't the true wall, still holds a POWERFUL message. I am deeply grateful to all the brave men and women for their courage and sacrifice.
If you ever get the opportunity to see The Wall That Heals in person, I hope your experience is as meaningful as mine.
Howland Farmer's Market
Rain or Shine!!!
Nothing can keep Howland residents away from the Howland Farmer's Market!
With food trucks ready to serve and live music filling the air, the fantastic vendors did their best to stay dry, while the Howland Rotary Club worked hard to raise awareness about their initiatives.
From June to October, every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM – make sure you don’t miss out!

We began to setup at the Howland Farmer's Market in Orwig Park. There's an incredible amount of vendors here, and we have the opportunity to connect with many wonderful people.
We proudly presented a check for $500 to the Howland Police and Fire Departments. Their unwavering commitment to our township’s residents does not go unnoticed. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every member for their sacrifices and dedicated service.
The Club Newsletter was created to inform the community about who we are and how we can bring about change. We also started highlighting members of our Club to help the public become more acquainted with us.
Stephanie Schoening, representing the Howland Tiger Food Backpack Mission, and Lisa Aspinwall, the owner of The Howland Bean, graciously received a $500 donation from our club to support their wonderful initiative.
Gary, Ken, and Cindee addressed everyone at the Annual Picnic, highlighting the significance of Rotary and the positive impact it has already had on numerous individuals and organizations.

Club members and volunteers put in a great effort to restore the Bocce Courts at Orwig Park. We aim to keep restoring the courts along with other areas of the park.
We have welcomed numerous outstanding speakers at our meetings, sharing insights about their businesses and organizations.
The Howland Choir poured their hearts into a performance for the residents at Shepherd of the Valley. If you ever have the opportunity to hear them, you already know that they are truly remarkable.

Rotarians across the globe tirelessly strive each day to improve the world. Their efforts range from promoting peace and enhancing vision and hearing through commitment and technology, to fundraising initiatives aimed at eradicating polio for good.

One of the numerous fundraising initiatives is the Purple Pinkie Project.

This year, our club sold 58 dozen donuts, a $20 donation per dozen, and raised over $1500.

Sign Up Today to "Fly the Flag" in Howland Township!

Howland Rotary is accepting "Fly the Flag" subscriptions for Howland Township residents!

Show your patriotism this year and join the Howland by “flying the flag” through six national holidays this year.  The Howland Rotary will place a flag in your yard before the first holiday in May and remove it after the last holiday in November.  An 18” plastic pipe will be buried in your front yard, flush with the ground, to hold the flag staff.  The 3’x5’ flag on a 10’ shaft will be placed in the plastic pipe.  The flags and staff remain the property of Howland Rotary.  Sign up for your own home or as a gift!
The cost of this service is only $40.00 per calendar year.
