Edmonton's Food Bank

Today Tamisan Bencz-Knight, Manager of Strategic Relationships & Partnerships at Edmonton's Food Bank (and also former Riverview Rotarian), spoke to members about new partnerships being created between the Food Bank and other local organizations that provide new efficiencies and help reduce cost. Still a daunting task as the number of clients that the Food Bank serves continues to grow. Always great to have Tamisan attend our meeting, and today Rotarian Matt Scheelar presented Tamisan with a cheque, representing Riverview's donation for this Rotary year. We know this money is in good hands.
 
Rotary Fellowships - 
September 15, 2026
 
Rotary Fellowships are a novel way for Rotarians to unite through a shared hobby, recreational activity, profession or cultural interest.  There are currently 118 Rotary Fellowships (there are always new ones started). Our guests on September 15, Sherry Wells and David Yaki, are members of the Esperanto Fellowship and are promoting Esperanto as a serious world language. Other examples are camping, photography, tea lovers, golf, travel hosting and many, many more. Edmonton City of Peace

Our guests on Tuesday, Sherry Wells and David Yaki, invited all club members to a public event Sunday September 20, the International Day of Peace, held a city hall. Rotary has been a big supporter of peace initiatives and one of the organizations that worked to get Edmonton recognized as a "City Of Peace". Hope to see you there.
