The Rotary Interact Club of Elder Dr. Francis Whiskeyjack High School went to Ronald McDonald House on Friday December 5, 2025 (RMH) to provide the Home For Dinner Program. They provided the groceries, meal preparation, serving and cleanup for the supper for the residents at RMH. The meal they chose to prepare was homemade macaroni & cheese, Caesar salad, chicken sausages, and cookies and cupcakes for dessert. It was delicious and well received by everyone who had dinner and were coming back home to RMH from the hospital later in the evening. Jen from RMH provided our welcome and kitchen orientation. Collen provided a tour of RMH to the first-time visitors from Rotary Interact. She emphasised what a positive impact the Home For Dinner program has for the residents. This is always a special event for our Rotary Interact Club members as it introduces them to charitable giving and serving in our community. It exemplifies our Rotary motto, "Service Above Self”. It also keeps their personal concerns in perspective when they observe the big health challenges for the many sick children and their families. Thanks to everyone who came out for the evening and a special thank you to our Rotary Interact Liaison Teachers Pearl and Jorg, who also picked up the groceries for the dinner. Thanks to Vince Campbell and Ken Germain for helping provide round trip transportation from the school to RMH.
