This past Tuesday we heard a short presentation from a representative of the Go Baby Go Program sponsored by Variety -the Children’s Charity of Alberta.
This charity supports children with special needs to gain greater independence and become more active members of their community. Go Baby Go program provides motorized transport in the form of a brightly colored child sized car, which they brought along for us to see, that really appeals to children and to the child in all of us. The vehicle is tailored to the needs of the individual child so that they can control it in order to get around their home and their neighborhood.
They are looking for sponsors for their upcoming Go Baby Go car give away. They will be having a car adaptation workshop on the first day, where the vehicles are modified to suit the individual recipient and the next day the presentations will be made to the recipients. The sponsorship cost of one car is three thousand dollars. They will be donating one hundred vehicles this year in Edmonton.
