The Rotary Interact Club of J. Percy Page High School lived up to the spirit of giving in the Holiday Season with their recent visit to Ronald McDonald House on Tuesday December 16th. This was their second visit to RMH this school year to provide and prepare dinner for the RMH residents. This Rotary Interact Club has made over 20 such visits to RMH over the past 6 years.

Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta is the only facility in Edmonton and the surrounding area that provides temporary and affordable accommodation for families whose children are being treated in one of Edmonton's medical facilities.

There were over 20 Rotary Interact Club members who made the trip to prepare the Italian Extravaganza Spaghetti Dinner for 80 plus people. The Rotary Interact Club members looked great in their new Rotary Club shirts with their catchy slogan for the year, "Keep Calm and Carry On (with Rotary).

A lot of work was required to source the groceries, prepare, serve, and clean up after the dinner. The groceries and transportation are provided by the Rotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona, and the labour for the dinner preparation and clean up is provided by the Rotary Interact Club. A tour of RMH was provided to the Rotary new comers to appreciate the inner workings and the lay of the land at RMH. The staff and volunteers at RMH are always very helpful and friendly. A number of positive compliments were provided by the residents of RMH both young and old.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this trip a huge success. We are scheduled for the Home for Dinner Program at RMH again this school year. We are always looking for new Rotarians to come out and help.

Best wishes for the Holiday Season and Happy New Year,

Eric Germain
