A Project Amigo Volunteer Week is a true Mexican Cultural Experience. Each week is designed to give the volunteer a balanced perspective. The students and their families have great needs. They also have a rich and ancient culture and are keen to welcome you, the 'Amigo'.

Project Amigo Canada Society believes in creating extraordinary opportunities and experiences for students and volunteers by offering work weeks in Colima, Mexico.
Volunteers visit Colima to work, meet the children, and learn more about the people and culture of western Mexico. Work can include repairs to schools, helping children with their English homework, or reading with children. Volunteers are encouraged to fill extra suitcases with books of all kinds (West Jet waives the baggage fees for these suitcases). The only books that many children see are their school textbooks and are delighted to have a choice of many to challenge their English reading skills. The suitcases are left behind and given to students who have no luggage.
Project Amigo Canada Society believes in creating extraordinary opportunities and experiences for their students and volunteers! They work intentionally to design activities, tasks and events that welcome you into the community and offer you the chance to build genuine long-lasting friendships with the families and young people they serve.
