This past Saturday our club celebrated with an early Oktoberfest at the home of two of our members Stephan and Carin Jansen van Vuuren. Stephan and Carin hosted more than sixty Rotarians, friends and family for a very lively and successful gathering. There was a pig on a spit lovingly tended by Stephan and his team of cooks, some very delicious German salads (Norddeutscher Kartoffelsalat -Creamy Potato Salad, Gurkensalat- Cucumber with Dill and Rotkohl- Spiced Red Cabbage) very expertly prepared by one of our members Sean McMurtry who told us he was channeling his Oma, combined with Apple Strudel and lots of good German beer. Donations of flowers and beer were made by Heather de Kok and Ron Brown respectively.  The weather cooperated beautifully and it was topped off with lots of German music and even some dancing, a good time was had by all who attended.
More pictures from this event can be seen in the Oktoberfest Album below.
