Ron was a loyal and long-time Rotarian having joined Rotary first in Red Deer then our club in Edmonton in 1975. His Rotary Classification was Bull Shipper, a nod to his dry sense of humor and his agriculture roots. Ron served many roles in our club including Club Secretary, Club Bulletin Editor, Past President 1986-87 and twice was voted Rotarian of the Year, 1989-90 and 2000-01. He also volunteered as a Rotary District Group Study Exchange Team Leader and led a group of young non-Rotarian business professionals on a Rotary sponsored trip to Victoria, Australia to learn more about various businesses in Australia in 1992. The parties at Ron’s home were a Rotary hilite for many years.
