Classification Talk- Des Fernando

On Tuesday, we heard from Des Fernando, (pictured) about the things that he has done over the years.
Des grew up in Sri Lanka and came to Canada as a young man. He was trained as a computing engineer at the U of Waterloo. He joined Telus just prior to their transition to digital technology, and was involved with that for many years.
He then moved on to do his own consulting in communications, helping to set up fire fighting communications in Alberta. He then completed a Masters in Information Technology and continues with consulting today.
He has worked as a volunteer with Habitat For Humanity , KIVA and many other charities. He also likes to travel and see new places, and has recently been all across North America on his Honda Gold Wing.
