Welcome to Deer Park Rotary!Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self. Deer Park Rotary sponsors many efforts in the Deer Park area to enhance the quality of life in our community. Each year, our club awards several scholarships to deserving Deer Park students and makes a difference by giving to many area non profit organizations. |
Deer Park Rotary Awards ScholarshipsThe Deer Park Rotary Club awarded 13 students a total of $12,000 in scholarships at its weekly luncheon on Wednesday. Deer Park High School Interact Club students Justin Martin, Kyle Young and Logan Campbell were awarded $500 each. The club also awarded $500 scholastic scholarships to Ali Dupin, Mariah Mills, Bethany Cole, Timothy George and Alyssa Rodriguez. The $500 Chris Williams Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Kelsey Lindsey. Two more memorial scholarships – The Dorris Memorial Awards were presented to Shelby Mitchell and Yekaterina Malyavina. The Dorris awards are $750 each. The Deer Park Rotary Club also presented scholarships to two San Jacinto College students. The $1,000 Rotary San Jacinto College Award went to Sky Davis while the $5,000 Associates Degree Scholarship went to Denise Ochoa. "We're so proud of these students. None of them will disappoint you. They have done great things and they have great futures ahead of them," said Dr. Ronda Kouba, a Rotarian and principal at Deer Park High School. |
