2026 Scholarship Day for Deer Park ISD Students
May 20, 2026 - Deer Park 5890 Rotary met at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center (JBAC) to award 30 scholarships to students.

The day arrived that the students were waiting for - 2026 Scholarship Day. It came a little later this year as Bubba Bingo was delayed due to the Jimmy Burke rebuild project. Deer Park Rotary 5890 met for their weekly meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center (JBAC) along with students and their families. Because of our Bubba Bingo success, all 30 applications that were received for the Rotary Scholarships were able to be funded. Scholarship Chair and fellow Rotarian Michael Wycough led the program along with Kurt Taylor and JP Carter from DPISD. All but one student (who was taking a final at school) was present to receive their scholarship.
Mr. Wycough gave his thanks to everyone on the scholarship committee both at Rotary and DPISD for their hard work on this project.
Congratulations to all of the students that received awards. Best of luck at their colleges of choice.
