The Galveston Rotary Foundation, Inc.

The Galveston Rotary Foundation, Inc. was established in 1990 as a tax exempt 501(c)3 public charity.  The foundation’s purpose is to greatly enhance the Rotary Club of Galveston’s ability to fund projects, primarily in the Galveston community, for humanitarian purposes and to promote peace throughout the world.  The foundation’s business is conducted by a board comprised of the club’s president, president-elect, president nominee, immediate past president, and three elected trustees selected for three-year staggered terms.  Sources of income include the net proceeds from the club’s two major fundraisers (the Chili Supper and the Crawfish Boil), VIT Association memberships, weekly door prize donations, interest from investments, individual donations such as memorials and tributes, and bequests from estates.

Each year the Foundation supports a wide variety of events and organizations within our community.  Recently, the Foundation has supported Galveston's Children's Museum, Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County, SMART Family Literacy, Ball High School Band, Galveston Urban Ministries, Galveston Island Tree Conservancy, Galveston Art League, Grand Kids Festival and many more. In addition, the Foundation offers two $1,500 scholarships each year to Galveston area students heading to college.
