Candy bar sales raises $600 to fight Polio

The Rotary Club of Cortland raises $600 for Polio.

Every October the Rotary Clubs around the world celebrate their fight to irradiate polio. This year the club sold candy bars at the four locations of The First National Bank of Dryden. The sale raised $600 for the polio plus fund at The Rotary Foundation. This donation will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation at a 2;1 match. That means that there will be $1,800 added to this ongoing fight to end polio now.

A special thanks to all the people at the
First National Bank of Dryden
for their help in making this happen.

District Grant Project at the YMCA

Demolition is done in the new house
for the YMCA after school program

The Rotary Club of Cortland has partnered with the YMCA of Cortland to do renovation work at a house next to the current YMCA. The house will be used for teaching space, and an after school program. Attending children will need healthy food after school, so the kitchen is being totally renovated to meet code and health department rules. Funding for the project is from Rotary District 7170 District Grant, The Rotary Club of Cortland's Donor Advised Fund, and grants which the YMCA has secured.
