Our first trial evening meeting last Wednesday at the Ibis Hotel was a great success, with ten Rotaractors joining our members, plus a guest of Julie's, Christine Harrison.
Time was spent discussing the transition path from Rotaract to Rotary, possible future joint projects and social activities. An additional Catherine House garden project and a future visit to Calperum Station were just two of the idea's put forward.
Last Thursday. morning a small group attended our fortnightly Coffee Conversation which included two Rotaractors, Karagh Loring and Alana Melville, plus Alana's mother Liz.
Karagh is intent on completing her PHD. this year and Alana has just returned from six months study in Grenoble, France and will be a guest speaker in the coming weeks.
Although we have one more trial breakfast meeting planned at the Ibis, Rob has sent out a request to all members to please indicate what their thoughts are about moving from the Royal Coach to the Ibis. The seven responses received so far have all been positive, subject to two questions being solved. Possible bumping and storage which John W. is investigating. Your responses will assist the Board in their deliberations.
This Thursday morning our Breakfast Meeting is at the Royal Coach in their Board Room, followed by our monthly Board Meeting at my home commencing at 8.45am.
The guest speaker is Margie Steffens from Adelaide Uni, speaking on Community Dental Services. Margie was a guest of mine some four weeks ago.
The Board meeting will devote time to discussing the possible future move to the Ibis and the Rotaract transition path to Rotary.
For the benefit of members, we will aim to give the Duty Roster a few weeks ahead - see below.

A guy was sitting at the bar staring at his drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to him, grabs his drink and gulps it down in one swig.
"Well, whatcha' gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as the guy burst into tears.
"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd cry. I can`t stand to see a man crying."
"This is the worst day of my life," the man says. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man and then my dog bit me."
"So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all. I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve, then you show up and drink the whole thing!
......... But enough about me, how's your day going?"
