Our next official meeting is a dinner meeting on Wednesday 31 July at 6.15 pm at the Stamford Plaza Hotel. If you are unable to attend the meeting or will have guests attending, please email me at kmball@jelkamain.com or text me on 0402853929 by Wednesday lunchtime so that I can advise the Stamford Plaza about numbers attending.
Last week at our breakfast meeting we heard from d’Arcy Lunn who talked about his experience with Rotary engagement in Pakistan where he worked on the ground in polio eradication. He explained how the infrastructure that has developed around the world for polio eradication is also helping to build up basic health systems including water purification programs.
This week at our evening meeting John Burston, Director of Teaching at the Lifeflow Meditation Centre, will talk about meditation and mindfulness and how we can learn to stress less and enjoy more. He will provide us with a practical session to introduce us to some exercises to calm our minds and help us to generally feel better.
The Club’s Board met last Thursday morning and members provided initial plans for the 2019-20 Rotary year so that Budget planning can get underway. Club Secretary, John Campbell, will provide members with a summary of the outcomes of the meeting.
