Stories
From the President's Pen
Dear Rotarians and Friends
Lovely to be back with you all this week.

Our guest speaker this week was the amazing Peter Jolly who spent 25 years in the RAAF followed by 17 years in the computing industry after the airforce.  As  a child, Peter was interested in aircraft and carved an aeroplane into the paster in the house.  He joined the University squadron during his second year at University and took up gliding whilst working as an engineer.  Peter joined the airforce on 6th January 1965 starting at Point Cook.  Peter has had the most amazing rich and varied career in the airforce from low level aerobatics displays, training for the airforce and Chief Pilot for the Prime Minister, Governor General and visiting Heads of State.  Peter’s final post was Commanding Officer of #34 Squadron.  Peter has also done test flights for most of the world’s executive jets. Peter very generously shared many stories with us, we look forward to him joining us again at another meeting as he has many interesting stories to tell.

This week we have our club planning meeting focusing on International and Club Service.  See you all there

Kind regards Miriam

  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Jokes Corner
AS I AGE, I REALISE THAT:

1. I talk to myself, because sometimes I need expert advice.

2. Sometimes I roll my eyes out loud.

3. I don't need anger management. I need people to stop annoying me.

4. My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance of idiots that needs work.

5. The biggest lie I tell myself is "I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it."

6. When I was a child I thought nap time was punishment. Now it's like a mini vacation.

7. The day the world runs out of wine is just too terrible to think about.

8. Even duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound!

9. Wouldn't it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes; come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller.

10. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he would've put them on my knees.

11. When the kids text me "plz" which is shorter than please, I text back "no" which is shorter than "yes".

12. At my age "Getting Lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came in there for.
