Stories
President's Pen
Last Friday morning Katrina, Katey, Kirsti, Stef and myself were joined by Rotaractors Bernie (and dog), Alana and Amanda, all rugged up to walk through the parklands in support of the Hutt Street Walk a Mile In my Boots, homeless campaign which was great fun. Some of us enjoyed breakfast afterwards in Dulwich.

Some of our club members will be participating in tree planting this coming Sunday 16th. August at Myponga. If you are free to help, simply contact John W. and he may be able to assist with transport.

John is also busy organizing a social bush walk and picnic in McLaren Vale on Sunday 30th. August. Please let him know if you would like to join in and if you need transport. There will be two walks (easy and medium), and then gathering at Katrina's lovely property for the picnic.

Our next breakfast meeting is this coming Thursday morning 13th. August at the Stamford Plaza and I need you to RSVP to me by Wednesday morning please to allow me to give the attendance numbers and menu choices to the hotel as they are not officially opening until the 1st. September.

The eggs choice is either:

Poached eggs benedict on multigrain toast with smoked leg ham, avocado cream cheese, caramelized tomato and hollanadaise sauce;

OR

Eggs, scrambled, fried or poached, served with caramelized tomatoes, smoky bacon, crispy hash browns and toasts.

They will also provide Danish pastries, juices and tea or coffee.

***************************
Would all our members please give consideration to how they would like to receive their monthly copy of the Rotary Down Under Magazine, please.

The cost to our club is $44.00 annually per member for a printed copy, where as a digital copy is $34.00 providing a substantial saving .
Please inform Bruce McDonald of your decision.

Social Event
Bush walk & Picnic - Sunday 30th August

Please join us on Sunday August 30th for a picnic lunch in Katrina's 'Jelka' vineyards at Blewitt Springs.  Bring your own food, drink, chair and/or rug - this way you'll be COVID safe and your needs should be perfectly met.

If you'd also enjoy a bush walk, join us for this beforehand too.  There'll be an easy option and a slightly more challenging bush walk as well.  What's easy and challenging is each walker's perception of course... but we shall try to satisfy.

Use the attached flyer to welcome some friends who may also be interested in the Rotary experience.  It's not intended as a member 'press gang' but rather offers a taste of Rotary and a good time (especially those aged 30 to 60).  So feel free to invite others from your network, maybe include your adult children and their friends.  Young children are also welcome of course.

So we can ensure an enjoyable experience, please email me by 16th August to let us know you're coming.  Ring me on 0488 0000 50 if you have questions.

Cheers,
John Wotherspoon

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement
