President's Pen

This coming Thursday our breakfast meeting will be a Club Planning meeting - an opportunity for all members to have their say about what the club is doing and how they see this fitting into our strategic plan.

We will also be discussing our forthcoming joint service activity evening with Eastwood Rotary Club on Wednesday 6th June at The Royal Coach. This will take the format of food and drinks from 6-7pm, followed by us actively supporting Days for Girls by collating and packing individual packs. Our organisers will show a quick video about Days for Girls and then It will be all hands involved as we sit around tables and test our abilities to follow instructions. Our challenge is to pack 60 kits within our time frame of one and a half hours. From previous experience this is not an easy task but the result of our efforts will be enormously appreciated in third world countries when these kits are delivered.

I encourage you to bring to this event anyone who has ever asked you “What does Rotary do?” Cost for Rotarians is $20. We would love partners and friends to join us.

Another date to diarise is Adelaide Rotaract’s Changeover on Friday June 15th at Gilbert Street Hotel at 7pm. Cost is $28 per head.

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement
