FLIGHT 2021 will be virtual but next year we hope to all be seated in a big room with food and butterflies! Thank you to last year's co-chair, Kay Rendleman, we now have a location to live- stream for the big event on Sept 25! We will be working under the direction of Steve Weed Media at the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy!
Raffle tickets should be available next month (July) so please talk this up in the community! We want to sell out those tickets this year!!

- CSF approved $500 for Ashesi University project in Ghana. Distract Grant request submitted. Looking to get other local clubs to partner with us.
- Colorado Haiti Project is continuing on its agriculture project and has changed its name to Locally Haiti.
- We are drafting a request for the Practical Education Network (PEN) in Ghana for funding to help with the transition to online learning because of covid. SEE BELOW FOR A PEN UPDATE! We got to hear from PEN's CEO & Founder, Dr. Heather Beem, recently on Zoom as one of our speakers for the club's weekly meeting! We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Beem at our club to speak IN PERSON on July 23!

5. Who would you consider to be your “hero” or “mentor” and why? My Grandfather-Otis Mason Sr.; without a formal education, he was a giant in the community by example and intellect

13. We do a lot of good things in our club. In your opinion, where is an area that we could do better and how? I think we do enough. If opportunity presents, it should not be an add---it should be an 'add and delete' undertaking.
Last night I attended our club's 3rd Rotary Rally! Holly Flores, our membership director, has been scheduling these get-togethers each month. The purpose of the event is to help attract prospective members to an informal gathering that includes chatter about why we love our Rotary club and how it's such an honor to be part of projects and events that benefit our community!
I was unable to attend the first two Rotary Rallys. Fortunately, I made it last night because two of my friends showed up. One is ready to put in an application and the other one needs a bit more time to decide if Rotary can fit into her already-wicked busy schedule! She already does a lot for the community so I think that's what attracts her to our mission and purpose.
Have you attended one of these Rotary Rallys? Last night we met at Ivywild School in the Ivywild area of S Cascade. It's such a nice setting to do these events! And we had some club members join us as well. It's so nice to have club members there because these (hopefully) future Rotarians can see what a Rotarian looks like. So thank you to John Yates, Mike McGrath, Mike's brother Tom and his other brother Darryl, Valerie Martin Conley, and Holly Flores, the event's founder & planner extraordinaire!
We had SO much fun! I seriously cannot wait for the next one! And I really hope that these same Rotary peeps show up again. The more Rotarians the better! How great to talk about the good things our club does and the even better things we have a part in, globally. And these visitors saw how much we even like each other!
It is now time to retire Kathleen's Kolumn. Thank you for taking the time to read my Kolumn each week. I'll still be writing but more Rotary-centric and up higher at the top of the newsletter! It's a promotion that I am very excited about!
It's been a great year of leadership with President Gullatte and I've enjoyed being PE or President-Elect or Best Supporting Actress or Maid of Honor or whatever you call it.
I've learned a lot about our president this past year:
1. Our president's opening for every meeting is with a million volts of excitement.
2. He knows EVERYONE and has brought so many new faces to the club. Some joined and some shared bits of wisdom. Either way, our journey was enriched by the additions.
3. He stayed positive through all of this past year, which I'm sure was not easy to do.
4. He has led with his whole heart and for that, I thank you, President Sir! It is an honor to follow the path you've blazed and the boundaries you've obliterated.
I hope to see you all at the weekly meeting tomorrow!
