PRESIDENT-ELECT ERIC AT P.E.T.S.
PE Eric attended the Southwest Rotary P.E.T.S. (Presidents-Elect Training Seminar) February 7-9 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott. The training, attended by PE's from seven Rotary districts, prepares incoming Presidents for their year.

COMMUNITY SERVICE UPDATE
At last week's meeting of the Community Service Committee, the decision was made to submit two District Grant applications for 2020/21: one to purchase bedding (sheets, blankets, spreads) for Transition House and the other to purchase towels, toiletries and underwear for Showers of Blessings, a project of the Interfaith Initiative of Santa Barbara County. Volunteer opportunities with these two agencies are also under review.
Other community projects will be considered from the Community Service allocation of funds from the Club's Foundation in due course.
Committee members discussed a name for the cabin donated by our Club to Camp Whittier which is located in a Rotary grove. The preferred name was the Sunrise cabin, or bunkhouse as it is called by the Camp.
Tom Heath will work with the Camp staff to determine a work day some time in April.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ON ELECTION DAY
Poll workers are urgently needed in Santa Barbara County for the March 3rd Presidential Primary Election. Poll workers must attend a training and work from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on election day. INTERNATIONAL SERVICE COMMITTEE MEETING - WEDNESDAY, 2/26/20
Join a large group of club members as they make plans for the coming year. The meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. at the Santa Barbara Club, Remington Room. Breakfast is $15.
HAPPY HOUR - THURSDAY, 2/27/20 AT THE BLUEWATER GRILL
We'll head to the Bluewater Grill, 15 E. Cabrillo St., for great views from their bar area upstairs and seafood delicacies. Happy hour runs from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. but we'll gather after work.
DISTRICT ASSEMBLY - SATURDAY 3/21/20
Rotary District 5240 will be holding its annual District Assembly on Saturday, March 21st from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Pacifica High School in Oxnard. This training is particularly helpful, and is generally considered a must, for incoming club board members although it is useful information for any Rotarian. Let Eric, our President Elect, know if you plan to attend.
