Our featured speaker this week is Wes Allen, Director of Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center in Everett. Sno-Isle TECH is a school that prepares high school students to be successful in a high-tech work force and/or go on to further education and training. Sno-Isle offers courses in 22 subjects to high school juniors and seniors of at least ten school districts in Snohomish County. This is our twelfth annual "State of the School District" presentation.

Welcome New Member-Lance Morgan

Welcoming our newest member is President Chris Vallo who presented Lance Morgan with his badge, Rotary lapel pin and new member kit. Lance is a self-employed branch manager and loan officer involved in wholesale lending. Lance is passionate about helping others. He grew up in The Dalles, Oregon where his family owned a 120-acre cherry orchard and a honeybee apiary. Lance was a big part of helping with the Skyline Elementary project recently. Welcome to the Rotary Club of Lake Stevens Lance.

Lake Stevens Pride Festival

Our guest speaker on Friday, June 2nd was Angela Riebli, Executive Director, Lake Stevens Pride, and retired counselor at Lake Stevens High School. After receiving support in March for the Lake Stevens Pride Festival, the organization filed for non-profit status. As a counselor, Angela saw many issues involving students questioning their gender or sexuality.

The organizations' goal is to dispel myths and bring awareness to the issue; advocate-amplify voices through resources and support; community-international presence LGBTQ+ events; visibility through community partnerships and address mental health areas and safe spaces.

Annual Installation Banquet

Interact is a service club for youth ages 14-18. The name is a combination of the words international and action. We join Clubs in over 120 countries around the world. The global youth network is dedicated to community and international service. Every Interact Club project, great or small, has a lasting impact on society worldwide.

Now that school is back in session, Club Meetings will resume shortly. Contact Mrs. Odegaard for more information!

Our regular Rotary Club Meetings are at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center lower level Community Room located at 12309 22nd St NE. We start at 7:30 am.
