How will the Fire Levy Lid Lift funds be USED. 1) Funds from the levy will be used to fill open positions for emergency and support services personnel to continue to provide a fast and reliable emergency response. 2) Help fund rebuilding Station 81 in downtown Lake Stevens, relocating Station 32 in Monroe for a faster response, and expanding Station 31 to repair emergency apparatus. 3) Replace lost funding from changes in how federal government reimburses fire districts for medical care and transport of Medicaid patients. What will this cost? Property owners would pay an additional $36 per year ($3 per month) for every $100,000 of their assessed value. The question regarding "Why the Fire Levy Rates Drops is due to levy rates fall as property values rise to limit a fire district to roughly the same amount of revenue per year a 1% increase. When voters approved the levy of $1.50 per $1,000 in 2021, the fire levy has fallen to $1.14 per $1,000 since that time. OPEN House - Station 31 Monroe on October 14th from 12 pm to 4 pm.
