Our guest speaker on Friday, October 13th was Megan Wolfe highlighting "Girls On the Run" Unlocking Power and Potential. Girls on the Run has fun, is an evidence-based programs that inspire all girls to build their confidence, kindness and decision-making skills. Dynamic lessons instill valuable life skills including the important connection between physical and emotional health.
Girls on the Run is based on a core set of values. There are three basic programs according to Megan. Girls on the Run for grades 3-5 (April-June); After school at schools and parks with hearts and style for grades 6-8, April-June and Summer camp for grades 3-5, July-August.
What sets Girls on the Run apart from others is it is the only after school program. Girls on the Run is a National Program in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Snohomish County has eight school districts from Edmonds to Stanwood. Two million girls have gone through the national program and 692 girls were served in 2023 in Snohomish County.
