Paul Harris Fellows Recognition
The Lancaster Rotary Club was honored to have District Governor Fred Gellert recognize 14 of our members with the Paul Harris Fellowship Awards.

Notes from last week's meeting:
DG Rick Gellert addressed our club as part of his
commitment to visit all D7390 club’s.
DG Rick’s goals for District 7390 are to:
Increase our Impact through District Grant projects, environmental service, and foundation giving.
Expand our Reach through increased community awareness and club reach.
Enhance Member Engagement by building strong partnership among Rotarians and clubs and stopping membership decline.
Increasing our Ability to Adapt by increasing the effectiveness of district committees and programs to deliver effective support to clubs
He commended our Power Packs program and mentioned other programs in the district such as rail- trail trees, honoring veterans, urban agriculture and road clean up.
He commended our international programs in the Philippines and Zambia.
He was proud that 67% or Rotarians in D7390 contribute to Rotary Foundation compared to 40% internationally.
He encouraged our club to participate in the D7390 Peacebuilding Campaign for peace building and conflict resolution through Rotary Foundation.
He encouraged Rotarians to take advantage of Rotary’s educational programs which include Rotary Leadership Institute and the free on-line courses in the Rotary Learning Center at Rotary,org. Also, Rotary’s North East America Zone has courses.

Rotary Rendezvous has become a highlight of RCL business and social gatherings, and a fun event for current and potential new members. Anyone who is interested in joining our committee, looking for fellowship, or simply a night out, please join us for Rotary Rendezvous on Wednesday, December 13, at Southern Market in Lancaster. Parking is available at the Steinman garage or folks can find side street parking.
Rotary Rendezvous meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Arrive anytime between 5-5:30pm for drinks and fellowship.

“Lifetime” Member nominations open.
The Board is accepting nominations for the new Lifetime Membership category for members in good standing who are
unable to attend meetings and perhaps have stopped paying dues. The designation foregoes dues and entitles the holder to receive The Transmitter and other correspondence for life. Lifetime Members need to be nominated by active Club members and approved by the board

Club goes cashless
Since our meals are now are included in our dues, there is only a need to pay for meals when we bring guests. Cash will not be accepted. Only credit cards will be accepted.

Leave of Absence Dues Modification
The new dues structure remains in place. However, any member may request a 3-month leave of absence. Dues will be $122 for this three-month period.
Power Packs is a great program in many local school districts that provides a recipe with ingredients for a meal, as well as some staples like cereal, fruits and milk to help support students over weekends. Years ago our club helped financially to get this program up and running. Since then we have been providing volunteers, special request items like crock pots and occasionally funding gifts.
This school year, weekly on Wednesdays we will serve as we pick up prepackaged boxes (the packs) for over 60 families and deliver them to Washington Elementary and Reynolds Middle School. We are looking for volunteers for this school year. It takes about an hour on Wednesdays, but does not overlap our Rotary meeting. Large vehicles like trucks, vans and SUVs are great, but we split some loads so smaller cars can help as well.

Networking Event in Hershey - November 30
The Rotary Clubs of Hershey and Hummelstown will host the 69th RMB networking event in District 7390 history and the sixth and final event in the 2023 RMB season on Thursday, November 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The event will take place at The Englewood, 1219 W End Avenue, Hershey, PA. Concern: Sadly, Bob Geoff died on Thursday, November 2, 2023, on “All Souls Day,” His viewing will be Friday, November 10, 2023, at Groffs, 528 W. Orange Street between 3 and 6 PM. Services will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, at St. James Episcopal Church at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be between 9:30 and 10:45 at the church.
