Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I am announcing an exciting volunteer project helping students develop English language skills. We will again by volunteering at Samuels

Elementary school (Tamarac and Mansfield in Southeast Denver). We have worked with Samuels for many years.

Project: Each volunteer will go into a classroom that teaches English Language Development. You will work with students at teacher direction

and guidance. They will show you what to do. No foreign language skills needed. You will work with one to four students.

Time commitment 45 minutes on Wednesday every other week during a time slot that works for you from 8:30 until 2:30 during the school

year starting sometime during October.

Please let me know if you want to participate in this very exciting and worthwhile Literacy Project. Once you have done that all you need to do

is apply for the background check and we will work on a time slot for you to volunteer. These young students need our help in learning

Walk for Sudan

Event to benefit the Nuba Water Project which funds water projects in the Nuba Mountains in Sudan, education for Medical Students and crisis relief during war times in this remote area in the southern region of Sudan.  Our International Committee supports Nuba Water Project efforts.

Emmy Award winner, playwright and Harvard Kennedy School professor Gloria Brown Marshall will be the presenting speaker on this Zoom call to which all Rotarians and guests are invited.   Bill Donahuie will circulate the Zoom link and all members will receive a link by email the week of the event.  No pre registration is needed.

Attire:  Please wear closed toed shoes and bring a watter bottle. We will be setting up te event in the school's parking lot .  Please dress for the weather and park in the surrounding streets.

Dear District 5450 Rotarians,   Come be part of a special three-topic in-person event on Saturday, October 10 at Front Range Community College in Westminster. Register for one of the sessions below - there will be networking time for everyone during the break to meet, discuss and engage.   MEMBERS CARING FOR MEMBERS You already care about the people in your club. Come spend a morning with others who care too and learn a few easy ways to make that caring feel natural instead of like extra work. We’ll practice how to notice when someone might need support, ask questions that help us understand each other, connect people to what they need, and mentor someone who’s ready to grow. Home Hospitality is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians in a relaxed, welcoming home setting—sharing great conversation, laughter, delicious food, and community.

Hosts: Please plan to prepare the main dish, beverages, and seating for six or more.
Guests: You’ll be invited to contribute a side dish, appetizer, salad, or dessert, depending on your host’s needs.

A special thank-you in advance to all of our wonderful volunteer hosts! I know some hosts may have specific preferences or requests, and those are absolutely welcome. Just let me know as I work to pair hosts and guests.

This years' WASH symposium at CSU SPUR  features a Jean-Philippe Debus, Global lead for WASH with Catholic Services; Jane Nabunnya, IRC Country Director for Uganda, and bestselling author and water expert Seth Segal.  Following the keynote, there are eight expert-led breakout sessions.  Early bird pricing is $50 through October 1 and General Admission. after tat is $65.  Students are $20 and you can attend the virtual conference via zoom - they'll send you a link after you sign up.  PLease sign up DIRECTLY with the Symposium by clicking here and register on Club Runner as well so that the WASH Committee knows you are attending.
