In lieu of a regular club meeting we will be having an SOS meeting at President Craig's home in Kearny Mesa. We'll be finishing the work on several Little Free Libraries (painting, sealing, etc), as well as enjoying the now infamous Rotary Bar and bonfires that Criag is so well known for. So come support our club and have fun while doing it. PRO TIP: wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on if you plan to help. Wear nice clothes if you're lame and don't feel the team spirit.
Craig's place is dog/kid friendly and there will be alcohol (which coincidentally is NOT dog/kid friendly). Address: 3003 Comstock St. San Diego, CA 92111

Join us on Saturday, January 27th from 9am - 11am while we help plant and paint some new 'pollinator' gardens at the Living Coast Discover Center in Chula Vista. Club members may recall when the Living Coast came to speak to our club about the work they do for local marine life and ecosystems, and that they're one of the rare undiscovered jewels of San Diego (who knew there was such an aquarium in Chula Vista?).
We will be painting and planting things to help them create their pollinator garden in an effort to sustain certain local plants and bees. Please wear gardening/painting clothes and close-toed shoes. After our volunteer event we will have the option to stick around and tour the facility as their guest.... When: Saturday, January 27th from 9am - 11am Where: Living Coast Discovery Center 1000 Gunpowder Point Dr. Chula Vista, CA 91910 Dress code: Dress comfortably (long sleeves) with closed toed shoes – bring a hat, glasses, sunscreen, and water. Directions/Parking: - 5 fwy South - E Street EXIT - Immediate right at the stop light into the main parking lot Since we will be arriving before the Living Coast opens, they ask that everyone meet in the main parking lot and carpool in to the greenhouse area in as few cars as possible since there is very limited parking inside. Again, PARK IN TBE MAIN LOT AND WE WILL CARPOOL INTO THE MAIN GATE. For questions or if you get lost, please call Sarah Davis at 619-846-8341. For more about the Living Coast Discover Center, visit their website at: http:// |

You're invited to join us for an awesome rock climbing experience as we raise funds for our Rotary Club! For just $25, you'll get everything you need to start climbing including the gear (harness & shoes) and a short intro lesson for those who need it. Funds raised from this event will benefit our next service project where we’ll be heading to Mexico to build a loft home for a family in need.
DETAILS: When: Wednesday, March 28th from 6-9pm Where: Vertical Hold Poway 13026 Stowe Dr, Poway, CA 92064 What: $25 fee gets you everything you need to climb for 3 hours. Vertical hold has both electronic and hand-held belays so you can climb with or without a partner. Please wear athletic clothes and feel ...free to bring a water bottle. Must be 13+ to climb and children 13-17 will need a signed parent/guardian waiver. Who: Rotary is an international humanitarian and service club dedicated to making the world a better place. Our SD Coastal Rotary Club is local chapter whose members are active in both our local and international communities. Why: to raise money for our loft home build with Project Mercy. Homes cost approximately $5,000 in materials and take just a day to build. We will be helping a young family with children who are currently homeless and living in a makeshift shelter made out of cardboard boxes, hallowed out old cars, and other items commonly discarded at a dumpsite. This home will allow them to stay warm, dry, and most importantly, safe. We look forward to having fun and giving back with you at Vertical Hold! Please invite your friends and help us spread the word! For questions please contact Allan - (619) 246-9300 |
