Little Kiwanis Food Library Stocking Support
Jan. 22, 2026 - Dec. 31, 2026

The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club has installed a Little Kiwanis Food Library at First English Lutheran Church (326 E North St, Appleton).  Our club has committed to checking it on Thursdays and Fridays each week and make sure it is full (the church is taking care of all the other days).  We would get the food from the church's supply.

The church office is open 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday-Thursday and 9:00am - 12:00pm on Friday.

Golf Fore Children Committee Meeting
Jun. 18, 2026 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Since 2004, Golf Fore Children has brought together community members, businesses, and supporters to make a difference in the lives of children throughout the Fox Cities. This annual event benefits Kiwanis-sponsored youth leadership and community service programs, while also providing support to local nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving children and families in our community.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and donors, Golf Fore Children has made a lasting impact year after year. Funds raised through the event help support programs that promote education, leadership development, literacy, health, and community engagement, ensuring that children have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

Together, we are investing in the future of our community—one child, one program, and one round

History of the Event

The Fox Cities Butterfly Festival started in 2008 as a fundraiser to benefit Parent Connection, a program of Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin. Parent Connection is a parent education and early learning program serving the Fox Valley and Oshkosh.

In 2019, Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin handed over the leadership and direction of the Fox Cities Butterfly Festival to the Appleton- Fox Cities Kiwanis Club. The Kiwanis 'n Cops 'n Kids Program is dedicated to promoting children's literacy while strengthening positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Through partnerships with local police officers, Kiwanis members, schools, and community organizations, the program provides free books to children and families, encouraging a lifelong love of reading and learning.

By putting books directly into the hands and homes of kids, the program helps improve literacy outcomes and ensures that more children have access to reading materials. At the same time, it creates meaningful opportunities for law enforcement officers to engage with children and families in a positive, supportive environment, fostering trust, connection, and a stronger sense of community.

Together, the program helps build brighter futures—one book, one child, and one community relationship at a time.

Fox Valley Tough Toddler Challenge
Oct. 03, 2026 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The Fox Valley Tough Kid Challenge is an obstacle course event and fundraiser for Appleton Area School District's physical education departments. This event is for all kids age 6 through 13 years of age.

Participants will travel through the course in spaced intervals to allow for flexibility in family schedules and maximum participation throughout the entire event. Participants will receive an event T-shirt and a medal.  A portion of the funds raised will benefit every elementary student who attends the Appleton Area School District. Each school will be eligible for a grant to enhance its physical education programs.

Our goal is to spotlight being physically active as well as raise money to advance healthy initiatives.

The TKC course will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 1:00 p.m. Participants may complete the course whenever it is convenient for them.

Our club will be coordinating a Tough Toddler Challenge during this event for those kids under age 6.  We are looking for volunteers for the following shifts:

Serve Lunch at the Salvation Army
Oct. 12, 2026 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Nothing warms the soul like a warm meal! If preparing food and serving is one of your strengths, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

We need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Typically, when we get there we help set up different items, then serve the food to those coming through the line.  Once they're done eating, we wipe down the tables and chairs.  It goes very quickly, and we always enjoy doing this.

Missions of Honor Flight Welcome Home
Oct. 27, 2026 6:20 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis is proud to continue to partner with the Missions of Honor Flight program as they send our veterans to Washington DC and get the homecoming they all deserve.  Come and support the welcome home by being part of our crowd control crew.

Volunteers should arrive at the Appleton International Airport approximately 06:30 PM as the flight is scheduled to return at 8:20PM.  Kiwanians will be lining up directly after the military line. We will meet inside the terminal before the security check point.

Kiwanis

  • Please wear your vest.
  • Line up in the parade line and keep everyone, even kids, behind the ropes.
  • ATW will inform Kiwanis if non-HF flight arrives since they may need assistance with crowd at the arrival gate. Kiwanis can help navigate folks out of the gate to exit.
  • Keep all visitors behind the ropes.
  • Kiwanis please be sure to spread out the length of the parade route.
  • The bottleneck- keep watch for families trying to get ahead of vet line. Let’s keep watch on this as we may need to add another rope/extend it to the door for a future mission.
  • No more than 2 people need to manage the curtain for Welcome Home at the gate; Missions of Honor has their folks there to help if needed. With so little room, we are limiting the number of people in that spot.
  • Severin, the band leader, can make announcements if needed.
  • Missions of Honor tell(s) the Guardians to keep moving at a slow pace; we don’t want to rush the veterans. If you see a vet/guard stop, gently remind them to keep moving and position yourself so folks can get around you to keep the line moving.
  • Dave Mix, Commander of Post 2126, will have approximately 5 Post Members lead the parade and bring up the rear so you’ll know where the last veteran is.
