Good, Old Edmonton

We enjoyed a good talk from Robert Geldart, City of Edmonton Senior Heritage Planner. There is a Heritage Reserve budget of $3 million.

Robert's primary role is to encourage building owners to designate their buildings and restore them.
We saw some before and after photos of a few of the 111 sites. The MacDonald Hotel (1914), Mill Creek Bridge (1912), and the Hudson Bay Horse Stalls (1914) converted to become the Daytona Armouries.

Conservation, Rehabilitation and Restoration to preserve what we have here in a new city was shown to be important. It is our vital role to pass our history on to future residents for the next hundred or so years.
