Historical High Lights 2014- 2015 President Kaileen Casey 2014 Logo President Kaileen Casey Kaileen's year was the first official year recorded in Rotary Club Central. 20 projects were achieved with 1,467 volunteer hours donated by members. 'Cakes for Charity' was a weekly highlight with 52 different sweet delights baked and sold. Historical High Lights 2013-2014 President Desiree Cansdale 2013 Logo President Desiree Cansdale Membership of our club ended the year with 34 active members. We were very proud to have inducted 11 new members. This was a tremendous effort and surely is indicative of the good vibe that our club presents to visitors. Foundation was pleased to announce that during the period July 13 to May 2014, every member made a contribution to the Foundation. Many members had accepted DG Tony Heading’s request to donate $100 each. RAWCS Our club continued to sponsor 3 RAWCS projects – Mission In Action, Kenya Health and Education Kenya. Our thanks goes to Lyn Sullivan for again taking on the role of project co-ordinator for these projects. This year the record keeping requirements had increased and Lyn continued a fantastic job in keeping on top of things. District 9640 Our club was a strong supporter of District, with 3 of our members involved with the District Board. Simone Wong was Youth Chair, Margarita Rickard: Membership Chair and Anne Egan: coming in as District Governor Elect. We had a large attendance at the District conference in Stanthorpe in March 2014 . At the conference it was announced that our club had won a Presidential Citation Award with Distinction. Our club should indeed be very proud. The club visit by DG Tony Heading was “out of the box” with the members throwing a surprise birthday party for him, which was totally enjoyable. Once again our club lived up to its reputation as the “fun club”. Our club also presented Dianne Heading with bags & bags of books –in support of her Literacy Project. We also had 9 members of our club fly to Sydney for the Rotary International Convention in June 2014. This was quite an experience with over 18,000 registrants. It felt amazing to be a part of this huge Rotary family. This year our club became involved with the District outgoing Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team to Mexico. Margarita Rickard was selected as the team leader and Nicolai Poulson ( a local solicitor) was a team member. Both found the experience very rewarding. PLEASE CLICK ON MORE ...
