President Jeff Egan
Jeff's year can be best described as 'WHAT A DUO!' Jeff Egan ran the club like clockwork, while Anne Egan managed the District equally. Each other played their parts as well as filling in for spouses duties, it was double whammy all the way!

ANNUAL REPORT
FOR
ROTARY CLUB OF MT WARNING AM 2015/16
It has been an honour to be at the helm of the Rotary Club of Mt Warning AM for 2015/16 and it is with pride that I report on the activities of the Club during that year.
Foundation
Under the able direction of Chair Kayleen Butler members continued to make donations to the Rotary Foundation, our charity. In total, our members contributed $5,511.22US to the Foundation. Also under the direction of Simone Wong, we held two successful film nights which benefited the Polio Plus campaign by an amount of $2,266.00, as well as being successful social and public relations evenings.
During the year the Jenny and Desiree were recognised as Paul Harris Fellows.
Youth
With Jan Davis at the helm we sponsored two candidates to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), one candidate to Rotary Youth Transition Seminar (RYTS), three candidates to the Rotary Youth Program for Enrichment (RYPEN), partially sponsored a student to the Honeywell School of Engineering, and sponsored a student to the National Youth Science Forum District selection.
Patsy was assisted in her district role with Model United Nationals Assembly (MUNA) by a number of members and I am sure this support will continue when Patsy moves up into the role of District Chairman for MUNA for 2016/2017.
Further with valuable assistance from Leonie Huggins we have made great steps towards establishing an Interact Club at the Wollumbin High School.
Membership
Under Chair Peter McDonald our membership stayed steady with some resignations due to work commitments and ill health. This was somewhat balanced by our welcoming new members of Lionel, Bridget, Jack, Sarah and Barry.
We remain one of the largest clubs in the district and we have quality of membership as well as quantity.

Club Administration

Margarita Rickard kept us on our toes with numerous emails to ensure the club was functioning effectively and within Rotary International Guidelines.
Mary-Ann, as Secretary, and Carol, as Treasurer, were towers of strength in these demanding positions and they ensured that we were never in trouble with the District Governor.
Community Service
We remained active in our community and throughout the district for our hardworking Community Service Chair Wayne.
Some of the many events in which we were involved were Linen Party, Collectors Fair, Trash and Treasure, Fathers’ Day Raffle, Trivia Night for ROMAC, Book Fair, You Have a Friend, Car Raffle, Bunnings BBQ and of course Days for Girls.
Under Judy’s Fundraising Chairmanship we were able to make donations to the following:
- Adopt a Friend $300.00
- Ambulance Service $400.00
- Anzac Day Book Presentation $50.00
- Australian Rotary Health Indigenous Scholarships $350.00 - Banana Festival $500.00
- Disaster Aid Australia $1,980.00
- Donations in Kind $500
- George John Blankets $834.00
- Hospital Coffee Shop $481
- Life Education $500.00
- Murwillumbah Performing Arts Festival $200.00
- Orange Sky Laundry $600.00
- Papua New Guinea Student Assistance $750.00
- Polio Plus Campaign $2,266.00

- Rotary Foundation $45
- Tweed Palliative Support $1,000.00
- Viewpoint School Nepal $3,028.00

Social
With Kaileen and Mary as co-Chairs we could not help but have a very sociable time. Highlights of the year included a visit to The Farm, the Christmas Party and TAFE dinner.

As always Wayne did an amazing job in the promotion, design, commissioning, and awarding of Vocational Excellence Awards to longstanding workers from the Tweed Palliative Service, three employees from Tweed Shire Council who worked on the major road project in Murwillumbah and David, our host from Greenhills Lodge.
With the organisational skills of Helen and Lyn we hosted the Group Study Exchange team from Pennsylvania and we were able to showcase some of the highlights of our district and were able to make lifelong friends.
Conference
Under the guidance of initially Cathy and then Jan Glynn from the Rotary Club of Tweed Heads South and with a total effort from all members we presented a Conference worthy of our town and the District Governor.
We also could not have done so without the wholehearted support of the Rotary Clubs of Murwillumbah and Murwillumbah Central.
Speakers at the Conference were topical, interesting and entertaining. Social functions were enjoyable. The organisation of the whole event was first class and resulted in fulsome praise throughout the District.
Public Relations
Kaylene Stanford ensured that our website was up to date and Marissa again published a professional, informative and interesting Espatch each week.
Also thanks to our Loopers Chris Wheeler, Kayleen Stanford and Rhonda for their notetaking and keeping members up to date.
Speakers
Jenny Wallace and Chris Wheeler kept the speakers coming. It is amazing how and where they found such speakers who were always relevant and fun. Their efforts contributed largely to ensuring our breakfast meetings were ones that members wished to attend.
Club Training
Simone was our Club Trainer. Although opportunities to train were limited due to our busy program she always did a professional job. She must have done a good job as she is now the District Rotary Leadership Institute Trainer for the coming year.
We were light on attendance at the District Rotary Leadership Institute training events, not for any want of encouragement or lack of quality of presenters. I am now pleased to announce that Patsy will be attending the next RLI course held by our District.

International Service
Our Club won the District Award for International Service which was not surprising when you consider our involvement in four Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) projects being Mission in Action, Kenya Health, Education Care Project Kenya and Rafiki Mwema. Thank you to our Project Managers Ann, Mary-Ann, Jan and Carol and overall supervisor Lyn. As well we continued our involvement with the Viewpoint School in Nepal, our PNG Student project and, of course, Days for Girls.
Days for Girls remains a major project of our Club under the hardworking guidance of Vicki and her team. For the second year running, Days for Girls won the District Award for Best Display at District Conference. More importantly the project is bringing dignity to many young women in more disadvantaged countries and promoting the brand of Rotary.
As you can see we have had a busy year which would not have been possible without the support of all members and many partners. We also had great support from Assistant Governor, Denis Hallsworth and our own District Governor Anne.
I wish Peter and his team well for next year and I am sure that he will have the wholehearted support of all members.
