National TGIM Day encourages us to celebrate the first Monday of the new year with vigor and energy. Not only does the observance focus on the first Monday in January, but on every Monday throughout the year. Mondays are often full of new beginnings and opportunities.

No Meeting Last Week
Last week, we did not have a club meeting. It was New Year's week, and it was time to reflect on the year we've had and look forward to the opportunities of 2026. Hope you all had a Happy New Year's with family and friends.

Upcoming Service Opportunities
Speech Contest -
We have our Annual Speech contest coming up next month. The Speech Contest is an annual event held in February or March of each year.  A finite number of students from local high schools work with their Advisors and Rotary Representatives to develop and present a speech to the sponsoring Rotary Club. Winners then proceed to the District Semi-Finals and the National Final. Cash prizes are given at each level. The presentations for the students we are sponsoring will be at our Wednesday Club meeting on February 11th. Please be sure to attend and reach out to Christine Giri on how you can help.

Blood Drive -
We have our blood drive event coming up in March. The Club is partnering with the Victory High School Interact Club and Vitalant for a blood drive. The goal is to secure at least 30 donors, including community members, students, and Rotarians. The blood drive will take place on March 13th. Please reach out to Ken Broadway on how you can help.

More service events and information to come, so stay tuned.

Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award
Let's recognize our fellow Rotarians who have been living the Rotary way of service above self. Nominate a member for the Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award

The Rotary Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award honors Rotarians and Rotaractors who have demonstrated exemplary service to the Foundation and who received the Citation for Meritorious Service at least four years earlier. During the month of January, any Rotarian or Rotaractor can nominate one candidate for this award by submitting an online nomination form.
