Greetings and a very warm welcome to our new Rotary E-club.
District 6330 is very excited about joining with District 5370 in chartering the new E-club. The purpose of the E-club is to extend Rotary to individuals who are unable to meet traditional attendance requirements for various reasons.
I would like to recognize both PDG Elly and Tanya for their efforts to date in moving this new club forward.
We just returned from Zone’s 24 and 32 Institute in Vancouver where in addition to reacquainting with old friends, classmates and meeting senior Rotary leaders we were also brought up to speed with regard to Rotary’s current developments and plans. This is an exciting time in Rotary with many changes occurring not the least of which is Rotary Foundation - Future Vision due to be implemented July 1, 2013.
I for one am very pleased to be part of these important changes which are taking place in Rotary - one of which is the introduction of this Rotary E-club and I look forward to continued participation going forward.

Opening Remarks
Dear fellow members and guests. This week’s meeting has been prepared from our winter residence in Mexico. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have this privilege and enjoy it to the fullest.
We are also very grateful for being able to serve through Rotary. As we travel around the province, we see opportunities to serve on a daily basis. The Rotary clubs here in the state of Colima are very actively involved with education projects and we are happy to be able to take part in some of these.
I hope you will enjoy today’s program, which is about this beautiful country of Mexico.

A Little Humour
While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant, and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table, and she didn't miss them until they had been driving for about forty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around, in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man; He fussed and complained, and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up for a single minute. To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. As the woman got out of the car, and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her: “While you're in there, you might as well get my hat and the credit card”.

Youth exchange experiences have changed many lives.

Food for Thought
Statistics from the year 1910:
• The average life expectancy for men was 47 years.
• Fuel for a car was sold in drug stores only.
• Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.
• Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.
• There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles of paved roads.
• The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.
• The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower !
• The average US wage was 22 cents per hour.
• The average US worker made between $200 and $400 per year.
Speaker Program
This video, “Mexico your senses”, won the Grand Prize in Brazil and was considered the best work at international level on tourism promotion.
The “Film Brazil Tour” attracts the best creative images of the tourism industry. 5,000 videos from 55 countries were submitted.
This video has received 91 first places in various competitions at international level, including the ITB in Berlin, which is considered one of the most important fairs in the tourism industry. The video also won gold in the category of best music, as well as the best video of Latin America.
In addition, Merca 2.0 magazine awarded the Editors the Choice Award for the video and Willy Sousa, for his high standards of photography. Enjoy
