Welcome to Honorary Member Anna Soper!
On February 11th our own Past President Bruce Kleeberger inducted Anna Soper as an Honorary Member of our E-Club.
Here’s a short biography:
Anna was born and raised in Chilliwack, BC until 2010 when she moved to Ottawa, where she completed a Bachelor of Social Science in International Development at the University of Ottawa. While in Ottawa, she worked at the Ministry of Health in the Tobacco Control Programme, contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of Canada's 'stop smoking' warning labels on tobacco products.
In 2008, Anna took her first trip to Ghana where she was a volunteer in a children's home and primary school. This led to several more trips to Ghana to help build two computer labs in primary schools.
In 2012, Anna was awarded the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship from District 5050. During her scholarship year, she completed a Master of Arts in International Relations at the University of Ghana. Her research focused on the local adaptation to climate change in the agricultural sector in Burkina Faso.
In 2014, Anna started working at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Rome but by the end of the year she moved to Sierra Leone to join WFP's response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Although the Ebola crisis is over, Anna continues to work with WFP in Sierra Leone.

I’m accompanying 6 children from Uganda, in Stratford, Ontario. The photos are from a community dinner and in green house with crafts and recycling garden education as they learn to pick worms out of the new soil made from food stuff recycling for the spring gardens
These gardens will grow food for the community dinners and cooking classes at The Local.
There is a self-sustaining food give away and social justice also supporting local growers who contribute left over crops.
Love the stick and stone home art from the girls fresh in from Uganda.
Think of the Rotary sharing of community solutions and the influence to bring change in the world. Exciting possibilities, this E-Club has!

Several of our members have done a great job promoting our e-club at Terra Club meetings or other Rotary events.
There are many ways, you can help:
1. Post a message on our E-club Facebook Page; click HERE
2. Hand out Generic E-club Business cards
3. Order personalized E-club Business Cards
4. Present an E-club banner at a terra Club
5. Present a Power Point Presentation at a terra club (available in Dropbox upon request)

SHELTERBOX CANADA FUNDRAISING SUPERSTAR: GRADE 11 STUDENT, LAURA SPRINGER
Laura Springer is a grade 11 student in Vancouver, BC who has a passion for helping others.
Laura recently joined the ShelterBox Canada team as a high school Ambassador. Since joining in late November she has already made a huge impact!
Laura has been selling home made cookies to friends and family to raise money for ShelterBox. So far she has well surpassed her goal of $1,200 and has raised $1,835, with new donations coming in daily!
Way to go Laura!!

Darlene and I are making great progress in developing these workshops: two types: #1 Getting to Know Windows 10, #2 Extensions of Windows 10 and Office 365 ( six (6) seminars.
#1: Scheduled for 4 PM March 19 at the Microsoft Office in the Edmonton West Edmonton Mall.
#2: Scheduled for 7 PM Tuesdays starting March 1, 2016.
Register for the workshops be calling the Microsoft Office 780-801-4200 or emailing: Ross@Hallettfinancial.ca or Solomon.sonara@yahoo.com. Brochures advertising the workshops are being prepared. In addition, we are developing a Power Point presentation describing the workshops which will be put on public media and/or sent to specific people. I am getting great help from the Microsoft Office Manager.

Subject: Assessment under way!
Notes: This short report is just to let everyone know a Water Mission / Misiones del Agua team is in the village carrying out the assessment in order to gather data to complete a proposal for Rotary. Selvin, Nahun and Fredy are the members of this team and will be there until over there weekend.
They are holding a town hall meeting with villagers this weekend to explain the scope of the project, community sweat equity, sustainability commitment, etc. Rotarians from El Progreso have promised to attend this meeting.
